The Online Application Process

Q. Will I be able to apply for more than one pre-k program?
A. During the lottery phase. applicants will be allowed to select a maximum of three locations and should list them in order of preference. During the waiting list phase (after the lottery application acceptance period), applicants will only be allowed to select one site.

Q. How long does it take to complete the online application process?
A. Typically, the process should take 30 minutes. However for your convenience, you are allowed to save your application and return later. Your application must be completed and submitted by the deadline.

Q. What if I do not have access to a computer?
A. Applications can be submitted with the use of a cellular device. You can also visit your community library or contact the Office of Early Learning at 404-802-3640 for additional options.

Q. Is there another way of submitting an application other than online?
A. No, the application process is strictly electronic.

Q. Once I've submitted the application electronically, how will I know that the submission is successful?
A. Once the application is completed online, you will receive a generated message that will be sent to the email address you provided when you created an account.

Q. Should I allow anyone else to use my account?
A. No, It is the user's responsibility to protect the integrity of any information entered in the system. This includes but is not limited to passwords or personal information about you or your child.

Q. My account has been disabled because I've attempted to login too many times. Should I set up another account?
A. No. Select the "forgot password option" and a new password will be emailed to you.

Q. How will I be notified of the lottery results?
A. Applicants will be notified of the results through email once the results have been verified.

Q. Will transportation be provided?
A. Transportation is only provided if your child is accepted into their zoned school.

Q. What happens if my child is placed on the waiting list?
A. If a slot becomes available in the Pre- K class, families are contacted by phone from the waiting list based on the order assigned by the lottery selection process. If called, applicants are given 24 hours to respond before the seat is offered to the next person on the waiting list. Note: If you applied at multiple locations, you will only be placed on the waiting list for your 1st choice only.

What will my child learn in Pre-K?

Pre-kindergarten addresses all GELDS but places heavy emphasis on the social and emotional development, letter and sound recognition, phonological awareness, language development, retelling story events and details, numbers and quantities and problem solving.
